Scout-Roblox Adventures
In this beginner course, Skill Samurai provides foundational computer science training using a drag-and-drop code editor. Covering key coding concepts such as basic conditional statements, loops, and print statements, we build a series of progressively more rigorous projects that provide a solid foundation in Roblox programming. Students will build awesome games including Prison Break, Barrel Roll, and Ninja Obby.
Skill Samurai's research-based, project-based learning (PBL) approach to Roblox 1 keeps the learning fun and engaging, while ensuring a solid foundation in CS.Students will create versions of their favorite games that they can share with friends.
Upon completion of Roblox Adventures, students will be ready to advance to Roblox 1 Core.
Scout-Roblox Adventures Curriculum – Ages 8+
The Roblox 1 Core course normally takes between 1 and 2 months to complete, depending upon course frequency (1:1 versus 1:1 Accelerated), the student’s prior coding experience, and the student’s consistency in completing homework assignments. Our teachers move at the student’s pace, and spend time ensuring that students have a thorough understanding of key concepts.
Prison Escape: Project 1: This course is great for beginners. Get to grips with the Code Editor and learn how to make your first Roblox game from scratch using functions and conditionals.
Barrel Roll: Project 2: This is a simple Roblox course where you will learn how to use core programming concepts such as functions, variables and for loops to create a barrel-dodging Roblox game.
Ninja Obby: Project 3: With this course, you will learn some of the more complex Lua coding constructs. such as vectors. You'll also improve your knowledge of the basics of coding. This course also covers game development concepts such as procedural generation.
Alien Attack: Project 4: This Roblox course shows you how to add a score system and randomise events using loops, both of which are great features for any Roblox game. You will also learn about some game development concepts such as iteration.
Terrain Tools R5: This course teaches you how to get to grips with Roblox Studio tools. You will also code tools which change and affect the world within a hide and seek game.
